Conrad Observatory - Trafelberg

The first meeting of the Austrian Geodetic Commission in 2009 was held at the Conrad Observatory of the Central Institute of Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG). The Conrad Observatory is situated about 50 km south-west of Vienna. At its present stage of completion the observatory aims at scientific research in seismology and gravimetry.
Since 2003 the Conrad observatory has been integrated into the “European Combined Geodetic Network (ECGN)”, therefore a GNSS reference station (Trafelberg) was set up and, in addition to this, a connection to the United European Levelling Network (UELN) was established by use of precise levelling.
